Last week I saw Tired Pony at The Barbican, it's my second time seeing them, though you have to be quick to get tickets ~ what with only tending to do one UK gig per album, so far I've been lucky. We had a nice day, no rush, kinda took our time getting to the venue and so did Gary, since I caught sight of him walking at a brisk pace through the foyer to get to the stage. Just a couple of feet away from me I stood open mouthed and repeated 'there's Gary'. No real fan encounter for me though, no, no. I don't think it's a good idea to have all things all at once.
Anyway, I'm almost into double figures for Snow Patrol gig attendance and I think I have stayed with SP in fan(atical) enthusiasm the longest throughout my fleeting obsessions, so I've started a new series of paintings 'Chocolate' picking out favourite images associated with the music and together a story of the fan experience, somewhere in there.
